Zululand taxi owners take step up

Taxi owners receive intensive training to ensure road safety

TO strengthen and improve the local taxi industry, owners and operators around the region attended a special workshop at the Empangeni Country Club last week.

The training programmes drew on the expertise of experienced academic personnel and industry specialists, who formed part of the collaboration with the purpose of supporting the development of the industry.

Experts provided operators with information on how to train their drivers on various issues, and ensure their vehicles are roadworthy and drivers obey road rules.

Owners also received administrative and logistical support to ensure they get information to provide the industry with better and safe drivers.

After the the intensive training, owners received certificates of completion, courtesy of South African National Taxi Council (Santaco).
