THE Aquadene Community Policing Forum (CPF) has issued a warning to residents to lock windows at night after several residential burglaries were reported this week.
According to CPF member Phillip Stainbank, criminals are targeting houses where windows have been left open.
In other incidents they use housebreaking implements to force open doors.
‘We are urging residents to lock all windows and ensure all security measures are implemented.
‘Another crime trend has surfaced, where school children using the footpath between Aquadene and Brackenham are being targeted by armed suspects and robbed. Pedestrians using the pathway are advised to walk in large groups.
‘We encourage our community members to report all crimes, no matter how insignificant they may seem, as this helps with statistics and shows a true reflection of what is happening in our suburb,’ said Stainbank.
