RICHARDS Bay SAPS members recovered 150kg of suspected stolen copper during a stop and search on Tuesday morning in Meerensee.
Members were following up on information and stopped the green VW Golf on Dune Road at about 11am in which five occupants had been transporting bags of cleaned copper with an estimated value of R8 500.
The suspects appeared in the Richards Bay Magistrates Court and were remanded in custody until 2 March for a bail application.
