ESHOWE Cricket Club notched up another win in their T20 League First Division campaign on Saturday afternoon when they beat Empangeni by nine wickets.

Empangeni opted to bat first on a ‘spongy’ wicket and heavy outfield owing to rain over the previous few days.

Brian Carpenter took three wickets for eShowe

It was possibly not the correct decision as they battled to score. They lost their last wicket in the 20th over with 71 runs on the scoreboard.

eShowe bowlers Garry Park and Brian Carpenter did the damage, taking four and three wickets respectively.

Park’s bowling figures were an impressive four wickets for 10 runs off four overs, while Carpenter took three wickets (two caught and bowled) for 12 runs off his four overs.

Dillion Pyper on the defensive

Empangeni could not defend the total and the home boys reached the required runs within 13 overs.

Rob Adams (38 runs off 33 balls) and Angus Cramer (24 runs off 25 balls) led the charge.
