Learners promote anti-bullying campaign
More than 350 poster entries were received from schools across Zululand
THE ‘Stop Bullying’ campaign, which marked its first printed feature in 2016 – an eight-page leaflet’ and an anti-bullying poster competition for primary school learners – handed over prizes to the winning entrants last week.
More than 350 poster entries were received from schools across Zululand and when judges reached a deadlock with their top two final selections, they decided to add another prize.
Umfolozi Casino Resort General Manager Pam Nagappa and Stop Bullying Campaign representative Allen Kunene, handed over bicycles to competition winners Lethokuhle Kamanga of Floraton Primary and Azaria Jacob of Veldenvlei Primary.

‘We were so impressed with all the entries and it was such a tough selection process that in the end we gave away two prizes.
‘We are so proud of our winners and we hope they will continue to promote the anti-bullying campaign,’ Nagappa said.
With the rise in bullying in schools. former Zululander Anesh Singh started the ‘Stop Bullying’ Campaign to combat the phenomenon.
What started as an online only initiative, has now expanded to print and the copies were distributed to rural schools where the online version is not as accessible as in urban areas.
Local businesses have also thrown their weight behind the campaign to get the message out and mining giant Tronox has signed up to sponsor a second edition, with the Umfolozi Casino Resort again giving away the prizes.
