Avidly making a difference
A local NPO is seeking financial help from business and the public to help fight against the scourge of drugs and motivate the youth in Zululand

A BOY who aspired to make a change, is fittingly doing so having matured into a man who is willing to take on the fight against the ills of society.
Ntokozo Buthelezi (26) is the co-founder of Avid Youth Movement, a local non-profit organisation that is attempting to create an environment that stimulates growth among the youth of Zululand.
‘The basis of our work reaches out to primary schools in the area, where we engage with the youth at a grassroots level.
‘We incorporate music, art, drama, debates and motivational talks as a means to address serious issues the youth face.
Ntokozo says the youth learn better through visual presentations rather than listening to someone speaking.
‘Fitness is also a component of our programme. If someone is introduced to fitness they can more easily relinquish bad habits.’
Ntokozo has pleaded with local businesses and the public to help with any form of donation or funding to bolster the various programmes they have planned for the near future.
