Over the past few months Mtunzini has been hit by ongoing power interruptions
OVER the past few months Mtunzini has been hit by ongoing power interruptions, some lasting for several hours.
Trying to obtain information from Eskom as to the reason for this is futile.
It just so happens that last week I was in Johannesburg for business for four days and our work was interrupted every day for more than an hour because of continuous power outages.
Since Eskom assures us that no load shedding is taking place at this time, one then assumes that the interruption of services are caused by breakdowns at sub-stations or other technical problems.
In Mtunzini’s case it must relate to a specific line since no outages occurs north of the uMlalazi River. It will be good to hear from other areas close to Mtunzini such as Gingindlovu whether they too suffer from this problem.
The question is why is it taking months for this problem to be fixed permanently? Is it because of lack of maintenance or shoddy repair work?
Hopefully Eskom will see it fit to reply to this letter.
