
A SUSPECT appeared in the eShowe Magistrate’s Court yesterday in connection with the murder of Sandile Sphiwe Dube (18) on Sunday.
A group of boys were sitting at the Etshenelimhlophe bus stop in the Habeni area, returning from traditional ceremonies in the area.
Unexpectedly, Lungani Nxumalo (24) stabbed Dube in his neck with a knife.
Dube was rushed to the eShowe District Hospital and was transferred to Ngwelezana, where he was declared dead.
According to witnesses the deceased had not quarelled nor had a misunderstanding with the suspect.
Police traced and arrested Nxumalo.
They also recovered the knife used to stab the deceased.
