MTUBATUBA detective, Captain Fano Makhunga, has been chosen as runner-up at the national SAPS Excellence Awards at Sun City last Thursday.

Captain Makhunga represented KZN after he won the provincial award held in Durban in October.

He scooped R15 000 in prize money and a R4 000 voucher and a certificate.

KZN Acting Provincial Commissioner Major General Langa, the Cluster Commander of uMkhanyakude, Brigadier Khumalo, and Station Commander Colonel Mngomezulu congratulated Makhunga for making the province proud.
