THREE men who were involved in a house robbery in Brackenham earlier this month will today (Monday) appear in the Richards Bay Magistrate’s court.
They will make a formal application for bail, which police and prosecutors will be opposing.
The men were part of a gang of five who broke into a home in Airfern Angle and were involved in a shootout with police who arrived on scene minutes later, as the robbery was in progress.
One suspect was killed while another was wounded and taken to hospital.

Two others were arrested while the fifth fled the scene and has eluded capture.
The crew had used a VW Polo stolen in Empangeni earlier the same week as their ‘getaway’ car.
While police did not respond to queries relating to the case, the Zululand Observer understands that since their arrest, the number of reported serious crimes, more especially car thefts and house robberies, have decreased significantly.
It is also believed police have linked the men to a number of unsolved cases, and as investigations continue, it is likely officers will uncover more.
