MORE coastal rains have fallen, but they have brought little relief to the drought-stricken inland areas.
Melmoth measured between 3.4 and 23.6mm on Wednesday morning, but very little fell in the Goedertrouw Dam catchment area.
eShowe had 13.2mm while down the road, Gingindlovu only received 4.4mm.
The highest rains fell at Port Durnford with 50.6mm and 39.8mm was measured at KwaMbonambi.
Further north, Monzi (17.1mm), Nyalazi (23.8mm) and Mtubatuba (11.2mm) received rain, but nothing fell in the Mkuzi and Pongola regions.
Heatonville and Empangeni measured 23.4mm and 30mm respectively.
