Stop and search yields 21 bags of dagga
The team found 21 bags of dagga weighing 189.85kg

A BAKKIE loaded with a suspicious-looking cargo was spotted and stopped on the R22 between Mbazwane and Hluhluwe on Wednesday, 23 November.
This was as part of crime prevention duties conducted by an Intervention Team including the Tactical Response Team, the Public Order Police and traffic officers.
On searching the vehicle, the team found 21 bags of dagga weighing 189.85kg with a street value of more than R190 000.
The driver was arrested and charged with possession of dagga.
It is reported the driver was on his way from Mbazwane to Limpopo.
The accused (29) appeared at Mbazwane Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, and his case was postponed for further police investigation.
The KZN Acting Provincial Commissioner Maj General Bheki Langa commended the police deployed at uMkhanyakude District for doing excellent work since they began operations in the area.
‘A number of arrests have been made for crimes such as possession of unlicensed firearms, possession of counterfeit goods, possession of stolen vehicles and drugs.
‘We will continue with such operations to make the lives of criminals difficult in that area,’ said Langa.
