Coastals go down to Gauteng
Coastals lose to Gauteng as rain determines the outcome

RAIN put paid to any chance KZN Coastal Districts might have had of salvaging an unlikely win in their Rural Cricket SA league match played at Addison Park on Saturday.
The visitors batted first and thanks to a dogged 101 runs from Nico Raubenheimer were able to notch up a total of 189 all out in 48.2 overs.
Donald Dinake (25) and extras (31) were the only other double figure contributions.
Alveiro Nadasen with 3/41 in his 10 allotted overs fared best with the ball.
Coastals’ reply started well enough, with Steph Joubert and skipper Eugene Zwart sharing a partnership of 38 for the first wicket.
However, it was downhill all the way after that, with wickets falling at regular intervals and Coastals always lagging in the run chase.

Joubert (32 off 74 balls) and Nadasen (17 off 51) did provide some resistance but both were run out, which significantly hindered the cause.
However, Neil Jordan and Dale van der Merwe were at the crease when the heavens opened and looked like they meant business.
At 109/6 there was still a glimmer of hope, especially since the powerful Jordan had smashed 26 off just 16 balls.
The match was called over and Gauteng declared winners by 29 runs on the Duckworth Lewis system calculation.
