TO commemorate international men’s day the SACTWU Worker Health Programme (SWHP) held a two-day awareness campaign in eSikhaleni and Mtubatuba last weekend.
The campaign was mainly to promote the importance of voluntary medical male circumcision.

Men received information regarding the benefits of making the ‘cut’, which helps reduce the occurrence of HIV/Aids infections.
The programme included special mobile circumcision clinics. SWHP has carried out
344 000 circumcisions in the past five years.
According to SWHP studies males who have undergone medical circumcision have up to a 60% lower chance of contracting penile cancer, HIV and other sexually transmitted infections.
These two events featured actor Ntokozo ‘TK’ Dlamini from the SABC1 soapie Uzalo, DJ Sox and local entertainers.
