Uniting against domestic violence

The demonstration formed part of their festive season anti-crime preparations

A NUMBER of emergency response units gathered on the John Ross Highway on Wednesday to campaign for the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children initiative.

Members of SAPS, uMhlathuze traffic officials, immigration officers, Freedom Generation SA and CPF Arborvlei set up a roadblock and held up placards in support of the campaign, which will run until 10 December.

SAPS Lieutenant Colonel ZV Buthelezi said the demonstration formed part of their festive season anti-crime preparations, which include human trafficking.

‘We are taking a multi-disciplinary approach towards the 16 days campaign this year.’
