Be part of giving this Christmas

Zululand entertainer to feed hundreds in Ntambanana on Christmas Day

‘IT’S not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.’

Local master of spin Thabani ‘DJ Ankel’ Mjadu is following the words of Mother Theresa this festive season and sharing his good fortune with his community on Christmas Day.

The well-known deejay and entrepreneur will take the role of ‘Father Christmas’ and spread the festive cheer to over 500 disadvantaged children and pensioners from his village at eMambuka in Ntambanana.

The purpose is to give his rural village an extraordinary day filled with memorable festivities.

Mjadu will serve his beloved community a special breakfast and lunch while playing various games, courtesy of the sponsors.

‘Not everyone can afford to have a nice Christmas. It is all our duty to support our communities and give them a day to remember.

‘This won’t be just about food, but it is about sharing time and educating each other. Youngsters will get a chance to play games and have a day filled with fun activities,’ said Mjadu.

This Zululand ‘Santa’ has been spearheading this charity drive for two years, and this year hopes it will be the biggest one yet.

He has extended an invitation to all residents to be part of the programme, and appeals for donations of food parcels, toys and presents.

The special event will also serve as a platform to create awareness against various social ills including health issues, violence and the escalating drug abuse in the area. Local artists will be part of the entertainment line-up.
