Staff praised for waste management
Waste separation at source remains a key step in the waste minimisation hierarchy
RICHARDS Bay Minerals was praised during the recent KZN Waste Management Awards 2016 for the exceptional level of commitment and enthusiasm towards safety, health, the environment and quality which were evident in the operations staff behaviour.
The judging panel was well impressed with the daily ‘Leadership in the Field’ sessions and people’s commitment to address risks.
Waste separation at source remains a key step in the waste minimisation hierarchy.
Along with reducing wastage (re-using CO gas, re-treating tails), recycling of water on site and minimising disposal to landfill, RBM was congratulated on the high standard of waste initiatives and dedication to environmental protection.
