ONE person was killed in a crash involving a KZN EMS ambulance and a Ford Fiesta at the intersection of the N2 and R102 early on Sunday morning.
According to reports from the scene, the ambulance was turning right onto the R102 at Canefields after collecting a patient, a pregnant woman, at eNseleni Clinic.
The Fiesta smashed into the side of the ambulance, killing one of the occupants and critically injuring another while two more sustained less serious injuries.
They were transported to hospital for further care.
Reports indicate that no emergency services personnel were injured during the incident.
