Thanda look for derby win

Thanda are a different side at the moment.

THANDA Royal Zulu FC will be looking to retain their unbeaten status when they meet AmaZulu in a KZN derby on Sunday.

Still five points ahead of their nearest rivals at the top of the National First Division table, the Amabhubesi will certainly not be taking things for granted in this away fixture.

The two sides have met on numerous occasions over the past few years, with little to choose between them, but AmaZulu have often been able to squeeze narrow victories.

But Thanda are a different side at the moment.

Head coach Roger Sikhakhane has got the balance just right at both ends of the field, with the team scoring plenty of goals and conceding few.

However, they have now become the target for the rest of the 16-team NFD league.

Everyone is out to be the first side to break their winning streak, by fair means or foul.

They will know they are up against not only the AmaZulu eleven, but also a fiercely partisan crowd of supporters.

All being well, Thanda will emerge with three more points and a step closer to PSL promotion.
