Remembrance Day commemorated

Members of 121 Battalion formed a guard of honour inside the chapel

WITH rain threatening and an already drenched lawn at the Fort Nongqayi Museum Village in eShowe on Sunday, the Zululand District MOTH Remembrance Parade was moved into the village’s Norwegian Chapel.

Members of 121 Battalion formed a guard of honour inside the chapel.

Loffie Schoeman opened proceedings with a devotion before Zululand District Old Bill Rob Wilson and Wee Bill Angus Mac Rae read out the names of the soldiers who lost their lives in battle since World War I.

This was followed by the playing of the ‘Last Post’ and ‘Reveille’ by Sgt Dlamini of the KZN SAPS band and then the laying of wreaths.
