Pupil stabbed to death over school backpack

The incident took place moments before the pupils were to begin their life sciences exam

TWO suspects who allegedly stabbed a Mtuba Grade 11 learner to death on Wednesday have been arrested by police on Thursday.

According to reports, Phelelani Ndawonde, a pupil at Mgwazeni High School, was attacked and stabbed by two assailants on the school premises.

The incident took place in the morning a few moments before the pupils were to begin their life sciences exam.

It is alleged that an argument broke out over a school backpack.

Educators at the school who were busy preparing for the start of the exam, were alerted immediately after the incident and rushed the victim to a clinic, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
