Pupils walk against social ills

The pupils addressed serious issues including teen pregnancy and abuse

PRIMARY peer educators spread strong messages against social ills during a peaceful walk in KwaDlangezwa on Thursday.

These pupils from various primary schools tackled issues such as teen pregnancy, abuse of children, drinking and driving, and even taking care of the environment.

This special walk was spearheaded by DrumAide and Richards Bay Minerals, with the purpose to tackle issues affecting young people.

‘This programme involves young people in drama, debates and presentations and they gain skills and knowledge by being peer educators.

There are many things affecting the youth these days, and having these workshops and engaging with them makes a huge difference,’ said DrumAide project manager Lindani Radebe.
