THE Department of Education has confirmed that the matric examinations in the area have begun without any disturbances.
Thousands of matriculants in Zululand are currently in the process of writing their all-important final examinations.
For most, it marks a time of stress, anxiousness and constant pressure from family and peers.
King Cetshwayo District education director DS Chonco has called on matrics to stay focused and not to lose hope during their final examinations.
His sentiments were expressed after numerous matric learners indicated that the maths paper 1 was tough.
‘Remain focused, don’t be disappointed and lose hope should one paper prove difficult.
‘Look past it and put more effort and concentration into the other papers you are still to write,’ said Chonco.
He further issued a stern warning:
‘The district has zero tolerance for irregularities or copying.’
