In another similar incident the KwaDukuza FCS apprehended a 34-year-old suspect for rape charges.
He was arrested on the 19 October at the KwaDukuza taxi rank, with the help of the community who blew the whistle soon after sighting him.
The accused was linked to six counts of rape, which happened at Ntshwanini, Tete, Tinley Manor and Umhlali areas this year.
After being given a taste of street justice by the fed-up members of the community, the suspect was taken to hospital, where he is recuperating under police guard.

It is reported, after promising his victims jobs, he would lure them to a secluded spot, threaten them with a knife and firearm and then rape them.

His case was heard on Friday at the KwaDukuza Magistrate’s Court in absentia.
The KZN Acting Provincial Commissioner Maj Gen Bheki Langa praised the FCS Units for arresting the suspect.
‘We appreciate the help of the community for apprehending the criminals; however we request them not to take the law into their own hands. We strongly condemn the act of vigilantism, but if the culprit has been caught, the police must be alerted.

‘We appeal to other members of community who have fallen victims of the same incidents, but have not reported them to the police to come forward,’ Langa appealed.
