Its annual successes have ignited the enthusiasm and confidence of its loyal sponsors and fans over the years

The Zululand Diwali Committee will host another electrifying and vibrant festival of lights celebration on the Saturday, 22 October at the Brackenham Primary School’s multi-purpose hall from 2pm.
Headed by Festival Chairman Dazzil Reddy, President Spuddy Parasuram and committee members, the team will work with the community to create Diwali magic in Zululand.
Plans are well underway and the Diwali 2016 celebrations are being hosted in Brackenham to enable easy access to the event.
The Zululand Diwali Festival was founded by community members of Brackenham in the early 1990s.
It is a registered non-profit organisation and its annual successes have ignited the enthusiasm and confidence of its loyal sponsors and fans over the years to forge ahead, to invest, grow and embrace our unity in diversity.
According to Reddy, the invaluable support of sponsors and patrons since inception has continued to assist in sustaining and growing each event annually and enables the locals to enjoy world class entertainment on their doorsteps.
The extravaganza showcases local talent while working to enhance the practice, understanding and appreciation of arts and culture within a creative, social, educational and community context, and is dedicated to integrating, strengthening and deepening relationships between different cultures and encourages community participation.
In addition, Zululand Diwali promotes local economic development through providing a platform for locals to trade at the food stalls and flea markets which unifies and embraces all local religious organisations.
