IT is so upsetting that our children are not safe on the roads.
The fact that a little girl has lost her life owing to reckless driving needs to be addressed.
Most of the children who are transported in these overloaded vehicles do not live close to the town and primarily rely on lift clubs.
Parents have no other option to get their children to school, therefore it is vital that the Department of Education and the Department of Transport step up and do something and ensure that regular checks are done.
Our children need an education; they also need to be safe in doing so. Are the drivers transporting these children even in possession of Public Driver Permits?
The law that is in place needs to be put to use.
