Sea Rescue assists stranded yachtsmen
Sailors stuck offshore in gusting winds and high swells

TWO sailors found themselves stranded 5.5 nautical miles offshore of Richards Bay on Saturday afternoon when water reportedly contaminated the diesel in their yacht’s fuel tank.
The National Sea Rescue Institution’s (NSRI) Richards Bay crew launched their boat, Spirit of Richards Bay, to rescue the men in gusting 25 knot north easterly winds and two to three metre swells.
Both men were returned safely to shore and their craft towed to the Zululand Yacht Club.
No injuries were reported.
