Speed humps on John Ross

The project will necessitate the closure of John Ross slip-lane into Medway southbound

MOTORISTS can expect to hit a few more bumps in the road in Richards Bay as from tomorrow, Friday.

The Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone (RBIDZ) is introducing temporary speed humps on the John Ross Parkway and Medway road intersection near the Green Africa nursery.

‘This is only a temporary measure for safety purposes while the upgrade of the intersection is taking place,’ said RBIDZ in a statement.

‘The speed humps on John Ross is expected to be removed at the end of June next year when the Medway road upgrade will be completed.

‘We would like to apologise for the inconvenience, but it is in the best interest of all parties.’

The project will necessitate the closure of John Ross slip-lane into Medway southbound to allow for the installation of temporary street lamps.

There will also be temporary closures of Medway southbound, Medway northbound as well as John Ross’ far left and right lanes for construction of asphalt speed humps.
