eShowe caregiver dies in N2 accident

The driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries

AN ESHOWE woman known for her involvement in community upliftment, died in what could be considered a freak accident on Thursday afternoon.

She was travelling along the N2 between Gingindlovu and Mtunzini when she lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a barrier.

At the scene with the police, she got out of her vehicle and was taking photographs of the damage to her car when a second car hit her.

Netcare 911’s Chris Botha said when they arrived on the scene they found that she had already died from the serious injuries she sustained.

The driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries. She was treated at the scene and then transported to a nearby hospital for further care.

The victim’s name is known, but is being withheld until her family, some of whom are overseas, have been informed of her death.
