
A TIP-OFF from the community led to the recovery of two unlicensed firearms in KwaMsane last week.
On Thursday, while investigating a murder case, police seized an illegal 9mm pistol and ammunition in a homestead in the KwaMthethwa area.
It is reported the Tactical Response police team was following up on information about a suspect wanted for murder at Kutsong police station.
Police conducted a search at a homestead in KwaMthethwa area and recovered the firearm.
However, the gun owner was not found and his whereabouts are still unknown.
On Friday, police received information about a man in a possession of an unlicensed firearm and when they arrived at his homestead, a handmade gun was seized.
The 35-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with being in possession of an unlicensed firearm.
He appeared at KwaMsane Magistrates Court on Monday.
