Rugger girl goes blue

'I have a passion for rugby and would like to use this platform to launch a career in sport'

RICHARDS Bay’s Elnè Kirton, who is currently in matric at Port Natal School in Durban, has been selected to attend the Pretoria Tuks Blue Bulls Academy next year.

The 18-year-old is hoping to further her rugby management career by studying sports and financial management through the academy.

‘I started watching rugby from the age of six in a house full of rugby fanatics, which resulted in me falling in love with the game,’ said Elnè.

She managed the first team boys rugby side this year and is excited to be the first girl to be accepted into the academy.

‘I have a passion for rugby and would like to use this platform to launch a career in sport.’

She is a prefect at WO Read boarding school at Port Natal, is chairperson of the sports committee and vice chairperson of the schools RCL.

Elnè enjoys reading and hanging out with friends and family.

She follows the motto: ‘Winners may stumble and fall, but they never quit’.

This determined, self-motivated individual aims at becoming a successful sports manager and one big asset off the rugby field.

‘Never give up and keep trying, as one’s dreams can come true.’

Anyone wanting to help out financially can contact Elnè on 078 9205663.
