THE Nongoma community radio station is set to be launched soon.

The duo said they aim to empower the community and change the way most people look at their area..

‘Nongoma is still considered as ‘backwards’ by many people and we wanted to change that by building a platform to assist the community to grow. The aim of the station is to empower and develop the community. ‘ said Mthethwa.

The Nongoma-born broadcast media ‘graduates’ said it had always been their dream to open the facility and give opportunities to young people from his area.

The station will broadcast in both IsiZulu and English.

‘Everything we do is for the community and that’s why the shows will be community-based. We will talk about issues concerning the community and focusonn empowering our area. It will also be the first radio station to offer a show specifically dedicated to disabled people,’ added Mthethwa.
