Bence sets the pace

He played off a 10 handicap and shot 6 over par, four below his handicap

LEON Bence shot six over par and carded 41 points, with partner Juan Muller shooting 15 over par and carding 36 points, which proved good enough to hand the duo overall victory at the New Horizon Ministries sponsored golf day held at the Richards Bay Country Club on Saturday.

They carded a combined 47 points to claim the honours, one point ahead of second placed Victor Mbuyazi and H Masabala (46 points).

The Richards Bay pair shot three birdies and 14 pars combined in their round of 18 holes in rainy conditions.

Bence played out of his shoes, shooting five pars and one birdie on the front nine and four pars and one birdie on the back nine.

He played off a 10 handicap and shot 6 over par, four below his handicap.

John Smith and Alan Waller finished third with 44 points.
