Touch rugby season gets off the ground

Teams will compete every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6pm at Mick Kelly Park

THE 23rd annual McCarthy Toyota Empangeni Rugby Football Club’s touch rugby league kicked off on Thursday evening at Mick Kelly Park.

Tiny Bubbles (women) and Black Ferns (men) entered this year as the defending champions, with both sides getting their title defences off with victories.

Tiny Bubbles beat last year’s third placed team Mean Machines 3-2 in a hotly contested game, with Black Ferns smashing SME Freeballerz 9-0.

Teams will compete every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6pm at Mick Kelly Park in a round robin format.
Games are played over two, 10-minute halves.

The finals day will be played on Saturday, 5 November.
