AS we all know the Richards’s Bay bikers has been in the news lately for various reasons, such as charity events – despite being called ‘thugs on bikes’ by some of the local restaurant owners.
Now I would like to put them in the limelight once again.
My wife and I were involved in a motorbike accident on 27 September on our way to the Rhino Rally in Harrismith.
The assistance, the messages and visits from the biking community were absolutely fantastic. I could not believe the reaction from all when the message reached the community.
I had 103 messages with good wishes on my cell phone at one stage from people right over South Africa.
We want to express our greatest thanks to each of the bikers, especially Tommy and his wife for the assistance at the accident site as well as the transporting of my motorbike and belongings to Richards Bay.
This just shows that our bikers are not just a bunch of ‘thugs on bikes’, but people who really care.
