Vehicle theft in Brackenham

It is believed the gate locks were damaged and the vehicle was pushed out of the driveway

BRAZEN criminals broke open a locked gate at a property in Cibotium street in Brackenham in the early hours of Tuesday morning and stole a Hyundai H100 bakkie.

The incident reportedly happened at about 3.30am, but the owner only discovered the vehicle missing an hour later when she woke up.

It is believed the gate locks were damaged and the vehicle was pushed out of the driveway.

According to Brackenham Community Crime Watch Chairperson, Ray Govender, the vehicle, which was equipped with a tracking device, was found abandoned in eSikhaleni later the same morning.
