Praise for men in blue hits the million mark
‘Let’s share these heroes as they are an asset to the SAPS and to this country'

MORE that 1.5 million views and over 5 000 shares have been recorded since a story about excellent Mtubatuba police service was uploaded last week.
Tributes have been pouring in for the four officers who went far beyond the call of duty in assisting at a roadside breakdown.
According to the SAPS quartet, while patrolling the streets at 3am they spotted a car on the side of the road.
The team cautiously drew closer and found the vehicle belonged to other police officers who were traveling from Mozambique to Durban, and went out of their way to help.
‘We checked the car to find it had a puncture and the spare was also flat,’ said Warrant Officer Bongumusa Mwelase.
‘We then took them to the police station to fetch a pump and helped them fit a new tyre before escorting them to ensure their safety.’
The police, who had been assisted, uploaded the story on the Police Pics and Clips Facebook page on Friday and it read: ‘Being in the middle of nowhere they were our heroes. Not only did they drive 40 minutes to get a compact tyre pump but also changed our flat tyre and followed us to a garage and ensured we were safe and ready to continue with our trip back home.
‘Let’s share these heroes as they are an asset to the SAPS and to this country.
‘They will go an extra mile for anyone in need! Thank you our heroes,’ said the Facebook item.
