I AM deeply saddened and shocked that people feel so little for their pets and have no regard for other people’s pets.
My uncle has been working in Richards Bay for three months and left his beloved Jack Russell, named Tiekie, in my care while he works as he has nowhere else to leave him.
I grew to love Tiekie with my whole heart as I am very fond of animals.
Today I had to share with my uncle the sad news that Tiekie died this morning because some people don’t keep their animals in their yard and see to it that their fences are secure.
Tiekie was playing in my yard behind a locked gate with my dog when two pit bulls come out in the street yet again, biting neighbours’ dogs and causing fights.
My next door neighbour heard a terrible noise and ran to see what was going on, only to see these two pit bulls grabbing Tiekie through the closed gate, pulling him through it and killing the small dog.
I want to thank the SPCA and all others involved in this case for all their help in this.
Please don’t let others have to go through this. If you want to keep pets, secure your fence so that other animals don’t have to go through what Tiekie had to go through today.
Rest in peace my beloved friend.
