Unizulu geared up to make impact

WHILE university students transformed into couch potatoes and nightclub prowlers during the semester break, the University of Zululand’s men’s and women’s volleyball teams were out on the courts sweating it out in preparation for the upcoming South African Universities Volleyball Cup to be held in Pretoria.

Senior women’s coach Xolani Dladla said, ‘It was a great loss for our players to not participate in the USSA volleyball tournament owing to insufficient funds last year, but this year we are given the opportunity to be part of this national event.

‘All players are putting in great effort in training to make this event a success for team Unizulu. We are going to prove that we are prepared and can take on the best teams in the country.’
