Medical fraternity mourns sad loss

Sad passing of local anaesthetist

STAFF, colleagues and patients mourn the loss of anaesthetist Dr Andrzej Denis, who passed away suddenly at home during the night of 14 June.

Dr Denis was popular as an outgoing, kind, friendly personality who always shared good conversation and his love for current affairs.

Of Polish descent, he was born on Christmas Day 1952 and after living in Germany, moved to South Africa in 1984.

He worked in Durban before transferring to Netcare The Bay Hospital in 1993.
Married for 40 years to his beloved wife, Dr Elizabeth, and father to London-based daughter Aga, his death will leave a void in their lives.

Besides being a ‘workaholic’, Dr Denis had a passion for skiing and headed for snowy slopes at every opportunity.

He also had a love for fast cars and would dearly have wanted to be a racing driver.
The funeral service will take place from the Methodist Church in Meerensee on Saturday at noon.
