Mayor addresses irate Madlankala residents

The municipality explained to the residents the intermittent water disruptions are a result of illegal water pipe connections, caused by households not in the initial water reticulation plans

CITY of uMhlathuze Mayor Cllr Mdu Mhlongo and his delegation visited Madlankala Reserve, Ward

municipality cares about the needs of their people.

We know and understand your frustrations; hence we are here to listen to your problems.
‘The only things we are going to address are the RDP houses, water, electricity, roads and jobs.
The issue of the councillor will be discussed at the Musa Dladla Region forum, for which I will have to come back wearing a different cap,’ Mhlongo said.
The uMhlathuze housing department representative said RDP house allocations for this community
began with registrations in 2009, thenin 2012 house building commenced.
They said the neediest members of the community were given priority during the phase 1 RDP houses
construction.
‘Those who didn’t receive their houses will be prioritised when the phase 2 construction begins,’ Mhlongo elaborated.
