Worry over aerial activity in Empangeni skies
Police helicopter chasing down crooks? No, paramedics at work
RESIDENTS who queried increased aerial activity on Tuesday night over Empangeni skies have no reason to fear.
Far from being a military helicopter conducting clandestine operations or a police chopper chasing down crooks Hollywood style, the explanation is far more comforting, and simple.
Robert McKenzie, spokesperson for KZN Emergency Services confirmed that a patient was transported by their Air Mercy Wing chopper based in Richards Bay.
‘The crew conducted a patient transfer from Enseleni to Ngwelezana Hospital before returning to base,’ he said on Wednesday.
Another AMS aircraft, a small fixed wing airplane, also flew over Empangeni with a patient en route to Inkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital in Durban.
