
IN a brutal murder in Dukuduku, a man was gunned down inside his home. The motive for the murder is unknown and no arrests have yet been made.
The incident occurred on 14 May in Mgqwabagqwabeni area, Dukuduku South, at the KwaMahaye homestead.
Police were called to the scene just after 7pm where they found the body of the victim.
He was lying on his back on the floor but, according to Captain Justice Hlabisa of Mtubatuba SAPS, it appeared he had fallen off a bench on which he had been sitting.
A total of 11 cartridges were found at the scene and the victim had endured six gunshots to the stomach, one to the chest, two to the face and two to the back of his body.
Blood was found at the entrance to the kitchen, and on the back of the kitchen door, as well as at the entrance to the bedroom.
Three of the 11 cartridges were found in the bedroom. Nothing had been stolen from the house.
The community is urged to come forward with any information that might lead to arrests.
