A WILDENWEIDE woman is crossing days off a calendar in a prison cell after she was copped with nearly R40 000 worth of cocaine.
Her arrest came as a result of an intelligence driven operation conducted by members of the Richards Bay Hawks unit on Monday.
The 33-year-old was apprehended at her home with two packets of cocaine.
The operation yielded further results in Empangeni, where three suspects between the ages of 28 and 38 were arrested for possession of dagga.
To end off their busy day, the Hawks unit arrested one more man at his home in Ntoyeni Reserve near KwaMbonambi.
He was found with an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
Spokesperson for the Hawks in KZN Lieutenant Simphiwe Mhlongo confirmed the arrests.
‘The woman appeared in the Richards Bay Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, and was remanded into custody with the date still to be determined,’ he said.
‘The dagga trio appeared in Empangeni Magistrate’s Court, also on Tuesday and were remanded into custody until 17 May.’
Lt Mhlongo could not confirm the exact date the Ntoyeni Reserve suspect would appear, as the KwaMbonambi court only sits periodically.
