AT an official ceremony last Tuesday, schools that fall under the KwaMsane Circuit were awarded for outstanding results last academic year.
Undoubtedly, the two best performers were Nkosikayingangathi and Ikusasalethu high schools, placed first and second for their 2015 results after having achieved 89% and 80% pass rates respectively.
Ikusasalethu’s principal, Dumisane Biyela, also picked up the award for the most consistent school, while various teachers at Ikusasalethu walked away with awards for top marks in their subjects.
These included 100% in agricultural science, 95.6% in economics, 96.8% in business studies, 100% in tourism and 100% in geography. Nkosikayingangathi High School was awarded for being the most improved school, having improved by 13% on the previous year’s results, and various teachers also walked away with subject awards.
These included 100% in accounting, Zulu, English, life orientation and tourism, 93% in physical sciences and 98% in business studies.
Other awards included Siyaphambili High for one of the two most improved schools, Asiphikelele High for 100% in accounting, Mgwazeni High for 66.1% in physical sciences, Nkombose High for 100% in Zulu, Mawombe High for 100% in English, Nomathiya Technical High for 100% in life orientation, Mfolozi High for 80% in economics and Siyaqala High for 100% in tourism.
Nomathiya Technical High was also awarded for 100% in civil technology, 99% in engineering graphics design and 92% in electronic technology.
