A MEERENSEE teenager woke up in the early hours of Friday morning to the terrifying sight of a firearm being shoved into his face by a house robber.
According to Meerensee resident and Community Policing Forum (CPF) member, Peter Daniel, who attended to the armed robbery in Jacopever Street, the incident happened shortly after 3am.
‘Two men gained entry into the property by jumping over the back wall, opened the shed and attempted to steal the lawnmower.
‘They then moved around the house and peered through the boy’s window.
‘They forced the window open, removed the house keys which were lying on top of a cupboard next to the sleeping boy and gained entry into the house.
‘The boy woke up when he heard a noise and saw a man pointing a gun in his face.
‘The robber told him to ‘shut up’ and ‘not try to be a hero’ or he will be killed.
He asked him how many others were in the house and the boy told him.
The man then asked how many cell phones he had.
He took his cell phone and laptop, told him to get back into bed and pull the blanket over his head.
The teen stayed under the blankets until his sister entered the room to wake him up for school.
No arrests have been made.
