High speed excellence at Beachcombers

The theme ‘High Speed’ tested the members’ capabilities when focusing on fast shutter speed images.

ANOTHER successful club meeting was held at the Beachcombers Photographic Club last week as local snappers showcased their impressive shots from their April assignment.

The theme ‘High Speed’ tested the members’ capabilities when focusing on fast shutter speed images.

As a result, an array of interesting and well captured images were submitted, along with the usual high quality submissions in the open category.

The winner of the theme category was Sias van Schalkwyk with his image ‘Fish Eagle Freeze’.

The evening ultimately belonged to junior member Gerrit Dyman who won the open award for ‘Load Shedding’ and the junior award for most points earned.

The meeting concluded with the election of new committee members Justin Whittaker and Belinda Blakeman, who will be taking over from Sias van Schalkwyk and Chantelle King who are stepping down after years on the committee.

Visitors and photographers are invited to attend the meetings on the first Tuesday of every month at the NSRI base (next to Zululand Yacht Club) in Richards Bay.
