All credit to hardworking hospital staff

SERVING a population of three million, great thanks is owed to the staff of Ngwelezana Hospital for their incredible work.

Despite being confronted by long hours, bizarre cases, bed and equipment shortages and language barriers with rural patients, the doctors and nurses continue to perform miracles. Yes, there will always be a bad apple in the bunch, but the overall complement of doctors and nurses who cater to three districts with oftentimes various referrals (even from Durban) are nothing short of amazing.

Special acknowledgment to Doctors Darryl Wood, Innocent Nwachukwu, Maheshwar Naidoo, Shailen Sham, Shaneel Singh and Simphiwe Ngema who have always been professional and attentive.

Thank you to hospital CEO Dr Thandeka Khanyile for helping to uphold the provision of quality health care to our community despite several challenges and constraints.

This community hopes there will be more support given to these great doctors to keep motivating them in this very pressured profession.
