Travel pictorial excellence at Beachcombers
Check out the winners in the Beachcombers Photography Competition for March
PHOTOGRAPHIC excellence was again the order of the day at the March competition of the Beachcombers Photographic Club.
The theme ‘Travel Pictorial’ challenged the members and as a result, images of exceptional standard were submitted.
Graeme Swarts took the top spot with his winning image ‘Strolling in Paradise’, and the winner of the open category was Kobus Maree with his entry ‘Where life moves slowly’.
Gerrit Dyman was named the junior winner.
Certificates of merit were also handed to Sias van Schalkwyk and Hein Beukes.
Local artist and guest speaker Beate Naude was present at the meeting and touched on the use of colours and balancing image composition, which in art, is very similar to photography guidelines.
Next month’s theme will be ‘high speed action’ and will once again test the photographers.
Visitors and photographers are invited to attend the meetings on the first Tuesday of every month at the NSRI base (next to Zululand Yacht Club) in Richards Bay at 7pm sharp.
The next meeting will also include the AGM.
