Educators honoured for excellence
Educators were honoured during the Ngwelezane Circuit Excellence Awards in Empangeni last Thursday
HARD working educators were honoured at the Ngwelezane Circuit Excellence Awards ceremony at the Empangeni High School last Thursday.
The teachers were acknowledged for their academic achievements, cultural excellence and sport accomplishments in 2015.
Accolades were given to schools as a whole, as well as individual teachers who, on a daily basis, dedicate their time and effort moulding young minds and creating future leaders.
uThungulu District Director David Chonco saluted the educators for their outstanding performances and dedication in challenging times.
‘Your work and efforts are acknowledged. Even though there was a decline in our matric results last year, most of you delivered quality work.
‘Let us ensure this year becomes a year of delivery and work together for the future of our children,’ he said.
Ngwelezane Circuit Manager Vusi Mhlungu and former University of Zululand Dean of Students, Dr Zethu Mkhize, and other senior education officials also attended the event.
